Here are some example configurations and reports for various traffic generation test cases.
10G hunt-script to test Layer-2 Network. |
The ICE system acts like a layer-2 bridge and is set up to support a maximum rate of 10Gbps. Previous hardware has maxed out at around 6Gbps bi-directional traffic, but we hope the new hardware runs faster. The LANforge-FIRE machine in this test is a CT503-10G traffic generator cabled directly to the CT966 LANforge-ICE system. The FIRE system will generate packets using the Armageddon feature.
The Armageddon CX has an active script that will iterate through different packet sizes and will find the maximum tx-rate that fits the configured constraints on packet loss, latency, etc. The Network emulation is configured for 50ms of latency in each direction, so the round-trip latency in the hunt-script is set fairly loose.
When the script is complete, a graphical script report is generated showing the correlation between packet size and maximum packets-per-second and bits-per-second: View the Graphical Script Report.
